Lovely, posted at 1:25 p.m.

Epiphany in Baltimore has moved to epiphanyinbaltimore.blogspot.com

Last night, Zack and I headed for a drink at Lulu's Off Broadway after a particularly hectic Sunday brunch. (In my vow to write more positive things about my second job, it was hectic in a good way, totally a high-volume, high-effort day; I felt like I was really working, I was charming, and I walked with over $100 even though I think I accidentally rolled my eyes at a table in an uncharacteristic charm-free moment.)

Zack and I walked in, and I recognized a woman in back as one-half of a very attractive lesbian couple who used to come into the restaurant fairly often.

She shouted across the bar at me, "Hey, don't you work at _________?"

I replied in the affirmative, and that it was nice to see her.

She answered back: "You're lovely there, by the way."

See? I love lesbians, and lesbians love me. And lesbians love that word "lovely," too, at least the oens I know do. I don't think I've ever used the word, but Rose uses it all the time. "Try these cookies. They're lovely."

Zack overheard the conversation, and said, "No, (Epiph), you're lovely everywhere you go."

Zack is a quintessential good guy and it was our first trip to Lulu's in far too long. What an odd place it is. A socialist-leaning owner who looks like a Nascar Fan (found out last night he is, actually), TV turned on loud, great beer, good prices, excellent food.

They were tasting damn good, and I had three Resurrections in a little less than an hour. I left at 6:30, jetted to the liquor store to buy cheap wine, then to Safeway to buy a pizza ingredient and the bandage for my costume, then home to change into a garishly colored button down shirt, and made it to the Oscars Party by 7:45.

A good night, made even better by the snow day today. I decided to sleep through the AM gym trip, and by the time I woke up the second time, school was cancelled. I was able to have an incredible two-hour workout this morning anyway, and now I'm back home, getting ready for a racquetball game later this afternoon and hopefully ready to accomplish something - reading MacBeth, which I start teaching next week; cleaning the house; or reading Jitterbug Perfume, for which I have a book club meeting on Thursday.
